All about Neko,

(a story for Sam) When I was younger I was working on Unix on Silicon Graphics work stations. In 1993 there was not much toys on computer, specialy on UNIX system.
I was working on CG effects for a Corean Advertising ...And suddenly...That little cat appeared on my computer...I was delighted and frightened too. I loved it, first second, while it began to follow gently my mouse cursor. What a cute little thing I thought, but I'm afraid it will put the mess in my rendering...So I looked for the number of the process to kill with regret. The little cat desapeared before I could type KILL999. I was so disappointed !

Fred was laughing in the other room...Of course. The term "geek" wasn't much used, but I'm sure it was invented for him! So I found Neko again and I installed him on my blog. Welcome back Neko!

Quand j'etais djeune je travaillais  sous Unix sur des Silicon Graphics ( des gros ordis. Un de mes pote sud americain avait colle le mot "carne" sur le mot "graphics", j'ai mis des semaines a comprendre). En  1993 ( j'avais 23 ans mes cheris), il n'y avait pas tellement de jouets pour ordinateurs, et pas tellement sous Unix.
Je travaillais sur un film 3D pour une pub Coreenne...Et tout a coup, tadaaa!...Neko est apparu sur mon ecran...neko ca veut dire chat en Japonais..J'etais ravie et un peu effrayee aussi?Je l'ai adore a la premiere seconde quand il a commence a suivre ma souris. "Roooh c'est trop mimi" ai-je pense dans ma ptite tete de fiiiille, "mais ca va mettre le souk dans mes calculs ce truc"...Alors j'ai cherche le numero du process a killer avec regret. Le petit chat a disparu avant que je puisse taper KILL999 ( et surtout voir qui avait envoye le petit chat). J'etais tellement decue!

Fred riait dans la piece a cote...Bien sur. Le terme  "geek" n'existait pas encore vraiment en France, mais bon il a du etre invente pour des gars comme lui.
