For the love of symmetry, expanded
As I get more proficient with a tool, my pictures get more complex…usually that’s where I get bored and move on to another technique, another subject, another thing.
Here I might explore a bit more, I think I’m not finished. What I did though, is play with 2 kind of radial symmetries for the colours and sketch, then shut down the symmetry tool to paint details and shadows.
Since the beginning I use a brush I created with a texture that doesn’t react to the symmetry tool. Here I also touched up the shapes and colours to “brake” the symmetry and make it less obvious.
None of the illustrations I made were done with vectors tools by the way. It’s only brush work.
So today I was in a more descriptive mood and painted recognisable plants, mostly. I’m quite happy of the result, isn’t it cheerful and sunny?
